For most of the country, Winter is almost over. Though this sounds fantastic as we get rid of ice, snow, slush, dangerous driving conditions, etc., it brings on the next phase of potential issues.
What comes next? Well, for many it is ALLERGIES. As spring jumps in bringing warmer and nicer weather, trees and plants begin to bloom, bringing that problem-posing pollen.
There are many medications people can take that are either prescribed by a physician or can be bought over the counter without a prescription. Either way, please be on the look-out for the dangerous side affects. It is most important for anyone using such medication to read all cautions and warnings on the package. Many times this type of medication WILL CAUSE DROWSINESS and the taker should NOT DRIVE OR OPERATE HEAVY EQUIPMENT.
If you are a Commercial Motor Carrier, my caution to you is - Do not allow your drivers to take any medication that has such warnings on the package. Also, make sure to train your drivers to get in the habit of reading and obeying warnings.
This way, not only will we have a safer roadway, but there will be less potential issues with your drug & alcohol testing.
